We’re delighted to share that Langfield Care Home has recently increased the number of specialist Reconnect Dementia rooms by 16, allowing the home to support even more people living with dementia in the region.
The renovated space was officially announced as open by Mayor and Mayoress of Rochdale, Councillor Faisal Rana and Iram Faisal, in a ribbon-cutting ceremony and celebration attended by residents, families, colleagues and members of the public.

Langfield first opened their Reconnect community back in 2024 and are thrilled to now be able to provide their specialist support to more people living with dementia. With newly refurbished ensuite bedrooms and bright, open-plan communal spaces, residents can enjoy a homely environment centred around their needs and personal interests.

Home manager Lisa-Marie Hutchinson proudly gave a tour of the new space to the guests, answering any questions and sharing a glimpse into what makes Langfield’s Reconnect care special.
“We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve created together, and I have no doubt the extension will make a real and lasting difference to the lives of our residents, their families and the wider Middleton community.”
After the ribbon was cut, guests gathered in the fabulous new lounge to enjoy an incredible buffet prepared by Orchard’s very own catering lead Jason Hunter, who never fails to impress with his menu.
The home ensured everyone got to enjoy the celebration (and the buffet!), inviting residents to the lounge for a party with live entertainment to kick off all the great activities they can enjoy in their brand-new space.

The Mayor and Mayoress were very impressed with the new extension, the team, and of course Lisa-Marie, who they invited in an emotional moment to attend the Mayoral Lounge to receive a Mayoral Badge in recognition of her contributions to the community.
“A huge thank you to the team for the kind invitation and for showing me around this truly beautiful home. The care, attention to detail and investment in creating such a welcoming environment are evident throughout. It has been completed to the highest standards, providing a wonderful space for those living with dementia and their families. Wishing the team every success!” – Mayor Faisal Rana
Congratulations to you all, Langfield!
