Marlena Derda leads Lansbury Court with a thoughtful, hands-on approach shaped by years of experience across the care sector.
Starting her career as a care assistant in 2011, she has developed her skills through a range of roles, gaining a strong understanding of both the day-to-day realities of care and the importance of leadership in creating a supportive environment. Her interest in medication management and end-of-life care led her to complete her Level 2 and Level 3 NVQ qualifications, before progressing further in her career.
After joining Orchard Care Homes in 2019 as Deputy Manager, Marlena went on to achieve her Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management and became Home Manager in 2021. She is committed to creating a home where people feel comfortable, respected and able to live in a way that reflects who they are, supported by a team that values kindness, consistency and genuine connection.
